“eMedia…Expanding the View for Education”

Our eMedia staff as part of the Office of eLearning at the South Carolina Department of Education is responsible for acquiring and producing valuable instructional television resources for our public school students, teachers and administrators. Located at ETV, the eMedia team works closely with ETV’s School Services, Engineering and Production Departments. ETV provides expert production and delivery services that makes instructional television available to our schools while the South Carolina Department of Education is charged with providing the curriculum content and coordinating eMedia services.

eMedia is responsible for programming instructional resources for the K12 Instructional Media Channel (IMC) accessible by all K-12 schools in South Carolina and streaming programs for access online in StreamlineSC! eMedia has produced with ETV programs such as Project Discovery, Eye Wonder, Riverbank Roundup, and an award-winning South Carolina social studies series, Detective Bonz and the SC History Mystery. These innovative, locally-produced eMedia programs expand young minds, engaging students with interesting information about our state and the world around them.

eMedia and ETV also produce programs for our school communities! In Our Schools with Dr. Mick Zais features programs focusing on important educational initiatives that have proven successful in improving student achievement in our state and highlighting SCDE key initiatives such as adult education, literacy and virtual learning. And, more than fourteen professional development series produced by the South Carolina Department of Education have been made available via ETV for teachers and administrators.
